These four things I arrived home to last night: purple tulips, dark pink roses, chocolate chip cookies, and a baby bassinet.
Sometimes my husband, in his humanness, lets me down. Yet other times, he touches me in the way he is learning to pick me back up. Today, it’s purple tulips, dark pink roses, and chocolate chip cookies.
The baby bassinet will be wrapped up and packed into my car to be the first resting place for my future niece.
But today, I have purple tulips, dark pink roses, chocolate chip cookies, and my love.
That is enough.
My Love Is Come to Me
My heart is like a singing bird
whose nest is int a water’d shoot;
My heart is like an apple tree
whose boughs are bent with thick-set fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
that paddles in a haleyon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these,
Because my love is come to me.
