For the one who continues, failure becomes impossible. – TUT

I have to admit that I am one of those Reality TV junkies, it’s my hidden secret. I DVR all The Real Housewives, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, and I’m addicted to The Bachelor and Bachelorette. I know it’s crap TV, but it’s the one unhealthy indulgence I allow myself.

One of my guilty pleasures is watching “Bethany Ever After.” I assume that most of you are familiar with this woman who’s become a national figure, and probably a bazillionaire to boot. Yet, if not just Google her name and you will get pages and pages on Bethany Frankel.

A friend of mine once asked me what it is about this woman; why has she blasted off to the moon in popularity? And last night, as I was watching her season finale, it finally struck me why–because she never gave up.

With a painful and difficult past, this woman refused to be anything but magnificent. And now at the age of 40, she’s got the career of her dreams, the husband of her dreams, and the perfectly adorable baby of her dreams.

Why? Because she never gave up.

When we continue moving forward, persevere through all of the hardships, failure is simply no longer an option.

What we have to be prepared for however, is that success may not look the way we thought it would, may not come pre-packaged with the exact yellow paisley ribbon we have picked out.

So why am I so drawn to this sometimes annoying, very outspoken and loud, woman from New York? Because even when the obstacles in front of her seemed impossible, she did not accept failure as an option, she persevered.

And that my friends, is very inspiring to a fellow climber of this Mount Everest life.

So today I encourage each of you, don’t give up, keep climbing, and release your expectation of the view you’ll find from the top.

I can’t tell you if or when you will hold your own biological child in your arms, however I can tell you that the opportunity to mother a child will come to you if you only keep climbing!

Don’t give up.
