When was the last time you pampered yourself? The last time you indulged in a little “you” time just doing those things that bring a smile to your face?
These self-indulgences don’t have to cost a lot, yet the boost they will give your spirit, your body, and your mind will help you on your journey to motherhood.
- Find a smell you delight in and smother yourself in it. I love lavender, anything lavender soothes my senses. So not only have I indulged in a lavender plant, I also bought lavender essential oils to roll on my skin. What makes your nose tingle with delight? Go out and get it!
- Search for the one sound that lulls you to stillness, then sit quietly and listen. When the wind rustles the leaves of the trees my entire body feels calm. We live on an acre and a half of trees so today I opened my window, turned off every other sound (including human and animal) and just listened to the wind play with the trees. What sound releases all your tension and brings you peace? Go out and listen to it!
- Touch and be touched. Human beings are made to be touched. Touch is healing. Sometimes I find that I just need to be held. Spending time with your partner simply cuddling up with each other will nurture your body, your heart, and your relationship. So go on, snuggle up or go for a long walk holding hands.
Take time today to nurture your fertility by treating your senses with things that delight you. Your body will thank you for it, and so will your future child.
