“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world,
the master calls a butterfly.”
Though a diagnosis of infertility can feel like the end of our world, it may truly be the beginning.
On the road to motherhood those of us facing fertility challenges are caterpillar’s growing, changing, transforming.
Sometimes this transformation will require us to let go of how we envisioned motherhood arriving to us. And sometimes this transformation will be an inner transformation, one that releases fears and dis-ease, which leads us to conception.
Yet through it all, perhaps most important of all to remember is that though we started this journey as one person, we will emerge at the other end with vibrant colors we never knew were there before.
After what can feel like forever in a dark solitary cocoon, we finally awake one day to find that we can fly.
Infertility is not the end of the world, it is what transforms us–bending and shaping us into the mothers we were always meant to be.
