“Remember when the sound of little feet was the music we danced to week to week”
Sometimes in the struggle to begin a family it can be easy to forget why we have forged ahead down this arduous and heartbreaking road. We can forget the dream, the sweet dream that began as a tiny seed and grows each day into a beautiful arboretum inside of our hearts.
When our children feel so very far away it can be important to “remember when.”
For me, a song by Alan Jackson always reminds me of why we keep going, keep hoping, keep praying, keep believing, keep making room in our lives. For me it is because I am living into the day when my husband and I sit next to each other in a house that is once again quiet, after many years of being full, and remember when the sound of little feet was the music that we danced to week to week.
Sometimes we need to remember where our dreams took flight, and to hold onto those wings as we glide on the wind through turbulent storms into the rainbow of our future.
What do you want to remember when?
