“Sometimes when we were stuck we’d stop for a minute to rest, regain our strength, let the waves take us for awhile. Even if we weren’t going anywhere, it was still sailing.”
At times on the path to motherhood we find ourselves feeling stuck–as though trudging through mud with our rudder dragging painfully slow through the deep, dark muck.
During these phases we often feel the need to increase resistance, to push harder, or to force into being what has not become.Try as we might however, usually the boat will not move.
It is at these times when we may need to stop for a minute to rest, to regain our strength and to let the waves take us for awhile.
For even when our life’s sail boat is swaying in rhythm with the tide, lilting back and forth through no effort of our own, we are still sailing toward motherhood.
When you are feeling unsure, stuck, and bogged down in indecision, take time to pull up anchor and let the waves take you. When the wind kicks in again, and the sails carry you forward, you will know with certainty which way your inner compass is guiding you.
Just relax and let the waves take you for awhile.
